Yandicoogina Iron Ore Mine – High Pressure Mining Hoses for Tailings

Rio Tinto’s Yandicoogina iron ore mine is 85km north west of Newman and produces 60 million tonnes of iron ore per year. In 2014, we worked with design engineer Calibre and contractor Innotech on the construction of a new tailings pipeline.

The specifications of the new pipeline required the hose lengths to withstand a high working pressure. We custom manufactured the Slurryflex slurry hose with a precise 317.5mm internal diameter to match the ID of the steel pipeline and built them to comfortably handle the 45 bar (4,500kPa) working pressure.
