Roy Hill Iron Ore Mine – Fast Turnaround for Slurry Piping Upgrade

In 2021, the Roy Hill engineering team had an opportunity to change out a section of pipework ahead of a major shutdown.

They knew the current rubber-lined piping was on its last legs. If they missed this window, they would be tied up bandaging leaks and repairs to get through to June.

We made it a top priority to manufacture the 18 spools of Abrasiguard slurry piping and Slurryflex CLX mining hose.

It was air freighted from our Brisbane factory to Perth and sent overnight to Roy Hill. What would typically take 56-60 days to manufacture and deliver, we were able to have on-site in 14 days.

Having a good handle on their pipework requirements meant that Roy Hill’s team avoided costly downtime from leaky pipes.

Plus, the new installation will last over three times longer than rubber-lined steel. That means less downtime and more throughput over the life of the pipework.
