Ravensthorpe Nickel Mine – Knife Gate Valves for Tailings Discharge

In 2020, the maintenance team at the Ravensthorpe nickel mine engaged us to design and supply knife gate valves for their tailings discharge line.

The team needed robust, high-pressure valves that would hold up to working pressures of up to 20bar. The team had no drawings or information beyond their data sheets, so they needed help with developing designs for the valves.

Our valve experts were able to help with developing schematics. We proposed CMO GH high-pressure knife gate valves for the high-pressure application. We also recommended fitting air operated hydraulic actuators to match the data sheet specifications.

We assembled, tested and tagged the valves in our Perth workshop and delivered them to site ready for installation at the next shutdown.
