Ravensthorpe Nickel Mine – Mining Hoses for Mine Restart
First Quantum Minerals purchased the decommissioned Ravensthorpe nickel mine in 2010 and immediately began improvements for recommissioning. We worked with their project team to select the right specifications and materials for each hose to match the acidic environment.
We supplied and delivered 823 Slurryflex slurry hose and industrial hose assemblies, totalling 2.2km of hose. This included custom manufactured bromobutyl rubber mining hose for the highly acidic tailings discharge.
First Quantum successfully met their recommissioning schedule and completed their first nickel concentrate export in November 2011.
