Ity Gold Mine – 1952-Item SPI Package & Slurry Pipeline for New Plant
In 2017, Endeavour Mining contracted Lycopodium to construct a carbon-in-leach processing plant at the Ity gold mine. The design called for piping that could withstand the highly corrosive slurry.
Working with Lycopodium, we designed, manufactured, and supplied ceramic-lined pipe spools. These spools are lined with high-grade alumina ceramic pipe tiles, ideal for high-wearing corrosive applications. For more control over slurry flow, we designed a ceramic inline choke valve to reduce slurry pressure and restrict flow.
We also supplied a large SPI package that included mining hose, hose assemblies, valves, couplings and other fittings. Lycopodium delivered the new plant under budget and ahead of schedule, with the first pour completed in March 2019.
