IGO Nova – Super flexible Slurryflex mining hose for filter press

In 2023, the maintenance supervisor at IGO Nova nickel mine called us for help with fast wearing filter press hoses.

The hoses were kinking at a crucial bend point. This caused frequent blockages and hose blowouts in a critical part of the plant.

For this application, it’s all about the bend radius – the smallest radius a hose can go without kinking.

Standard hard wall mining hoses of this size have a bend radius of 8D.

For the application at IGO Nova, they needed a bend radius of 900mm – around 6D.

That’s why they went with Slurryflex SF hard-wall mining hose. It’s the most flexible mining hose in the world, designed and made right here in Australia.

Slurryflex SF hoses can achieve a bend radius of 4-7D without kinking.

That makes them ideal for the constant movement and vibration from Nova’s filter press.
