Hope Downs 4 Iron Ore Mine – High Pressure Tailings Hoses
Hope Downs 4 is one of six mining zones in the Hope Downs iron ore project, 30km north of Newman. The mine is jointly owned by Rio Tinto and Hancock Prospecting.
With a shutdown coming up in two months, the contractor urgently needed mining hoses to replace worn sections of the tailings pipeline. They needed hard-wearing hoses to withstand a 45 bar (4500kpa) working pressure.
Our team in Brisbane accelerated the production schedule to accommodate the shutdown deadline. We custom built 83.2 metres of DN300 Slurryflex SA-Series hose which is rated for pressures up to 50 bar and has long lasting wear resistance.
We completed the slurry hoses and got them to site in less than seven weeks. This let the shutdown team get their work done on schedule with no headaches.
