Cape Lambert Power Station – SPI Package Delivered for New Station
In 2016, Rio Tinto engaged Clough to build a new power station to replace an old low-efficiency station at Cape Lambert in WA’s Pilbara region. The new station has two gas turbines and a steam turbine to deliver 120MW of power. This supports an iron ore production capacity of 333 million tonnes per year.
Clough and contractor RCR Mining Technologies engaged us to provide the special piping items package for the station. This included valve strainers, valves, monolithic isolation joints, pipe fittings, and industrial hose assemblies. Our team assembled, tested, and tagged everything in our Perth workshop and delivered it to site ready for installation.
