They were previously using rubber-lined launders (pictured top left in slideshow above), but the highly abrasive iron ore slurry kept wearing through the liners too fast.
They approached us for advice because they already used and trusted Abrasiguard in their plant piping.
We suggested that Abrasiguard launders would be better for this application because the wear liner is more durable. It also has reduced friction loss in this application.
We’ve found that polymer liners maintain their smoothness for longer as they start to wear, in comparison to rubber liners, that can become quite rough.
With a longer wear life, the maintenance team can feel more confident in their plant.
We custom manufactured the launders in our Brisbane facility and shipped them to site on time for installation.
