The spools form one of three 20m tailings thickener feed lines and replace old rubber-lined piping.
At this point in the line, residue flowing from five modules in the desands plant is condensed into three lines leading to the thickeners. So, the piping needs to handle high volumes of slurry.
The Roy Hill team have had great results from Abrasiguard polymer-lined pipe in their desands plant over the past few years. From experience, they decided that 12mm Abrasiguard lining would be the best fit for the job.
Plus, they knew that we could manufacture that size pipe here in Australia with all the necessary NDT and NDE testing.
Whether it’s for an overland slurry pipeline or process plant, we’re pleased to help make Roy Hill’s mine site more efficient.
